Empire Canyon

Acres: 1092

Dogs: Yes

Recreation: hiking, mountain biking, horseback riding, winter snowshoeing and alpine skiing

Description: Empire Canyon is one of Park City’s most beloved areas in history. In some ways it was even loved to death during the booming Silver Mine era of the early 1900s. The scarred hillsides that remained gave way to the recreational use of Empire Canyon for alpine skiing. Today, the magnificent mountain has become one of the finest ski resorts in America: Deer Valley Resort.

What You Didn’t Know: The Summit Land Conservancy’s conservation easement ensures special protection of the Lady Morgan Springs. This marsh habitat and other forested areas are long time breeding grounds for moose and elk populations. The Empire Canyon conservation easement is helping to ensure that Wasatch wilderness remains alive and healthy!
